Clemens made his major league debut with the Boston Red Sox, where he played for 13 seasons. Clemens then signed with the Toronto Blue Jays. In two seasons with the Jays, he made a comeback as he won the pitching triple crown (leading the league in wins, ERA, and strikeouts) and the Cy Young award each year. He was traded to the New York Yankees for the 1999 season, where he had his first World Series success. In 2003 he won his 300th game, after which he signed with the Houston Astros for the 2004-06 seasons, winning his last (to date) Cy Young Award in the 2004 season. He is one of just four pitchers to surpass 4,000 strikeouts, and is currently second on the all-time list behind only Nolan Ryan. In May 2007 he joined the New York Yankees for the second time.
