Roger's Career in words

Roger's Career Milestones:

300th Win:

Roger Clemens gained entrance into one of the most exclusive clubs in sports on June 13th, 2003 at Yankee Stadium, becoming the 21st pitcher in Major League history to win 300 games.

4,000th Strikeout:

The Rocket also joined another fraternity the same night that he got his 300th win by striking out the 4,000th batter of his career. Roger came into the game against the St. Louis Cardinals four K's shy of 4000.  Clemens was pumped up from the first pitch and ended up striking out the side in the first. Edgar Renteria ended up being the 4000th strike out victim when he went done swinging in the second inning.

"To have these two milestones that I was able to attain on the same night here, it couldn't have worked out any better," Clemens said. "4,000 and 300 put me with some great men that have ever stepped on that mound. I'm very happy to be able to catch these guys."
